Thursday, July 2, 2020 Important Guidance from Public Health Regarding the Reopening of Schools Dear Lynbrook Staff, Students, and Families,
Earlier this week, the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) held our first Parent & Community Webinar to provide an update on the reopening of schools in August. For those who were unable to attend, the webinar recording and slide presentation can be viewed on our Distance Learning & School Closures webpage. Please continue to visit this webpage regularly, as all District-wide communications on the reopening of school will be posted here.
Since this last update, the Santa Clara County Public Health Department and Santa Clara County Office of Education announced the release of guidance for local K-12 schools to facilitate planning for the safe reopening of schools for the 2020-21 school year. While we initially expected to present our reopening plan to the Board and community at our upcoming July 7 Board Meeting, the release of this guidance has necessitated the reevaluation of some aspects of our planning.
The State has advised that schools should "offer in-person instruction to the greatest extent possible." FUHSD will be working in partnership with FEA and CSEA to review, vet, and operationalize this guidance and the directives from the State to update our reopening plans. We will plan to share our draft reopening plan at our July 21 Board Meeting.
We encourage you to read the county's Reopening of Santa Clara County K-12 Schools for the 2020-2021 School Year guidebook so that you understand the requirements and recommendations that school districts across our county will use to guide their planning.
Wishing you a safe and happy 4th of July holiday and a wonderful summer,
Mrs. Maria Jackson Principal
