In this section of the weekly update, we typically highlight specific accomplishments. This week, we honor and recognize the entire Class of 2023. This group of mighty Vikings had their freshman year interrupted by a pandemic. They spent their sophomore year online (unless they returned for the hybrid session). When school reopened, they were juniors. Junior year is typically a tough one for many students. The Class of 2023 is honored for their resilience and positivity. When these students embark on their next journey, they will go forth equipped for success in whatever they choose to put their hearts and minds to. Class of 2023, we send you off with cheers and confidence that you will thrive. |

Hello, Lynbrook! Finals week is here! Enrichment time is offered during finals week for students to study and meet with teachers, if necessary. Teachers will assist students in their classrooms from 8:30-9:30 on Monday-Thursday of finals week. Students are to contact teachers to schedule an appointment during Enrichment in the afternoons on Monday-Wednesday since teachers are not expected to remain in their classrooms. Students are not required to be on campus during Enrichment. June is LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, celebrated each year to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan and highlight the work that has been done to achieve equal rights and opportunities for LGBTQIA+ Americans. This month, celebrations worldwide include pride parades and other celebratory events. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and asexual individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and globally. In FUHSD, we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming culture where every student feels safe and cared for, and it is important to celebrate the diversity of our LGBTQ+ students, staff, and families and affirm them as valued members of our school community. On Tuesday evening, May 29, 2023, the FUHSD Board of Trustees passed a resolution recognizing LGBTQIA+ Pride Month, the full text of which can be read here. As part of our commitment to demonstrating our solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families, FUHSD will be raising the Rainbow Pride Flag at each of our high school campuses and the District Office in June. We hope you will join us in celebrating LGBTQIA+ Pride this month. Stay focused, students! We are in the final sprint to summer! Mrs. Jackson Principal |
