Hello, Lynbrook! New walkway:Over spring break, a new wider and smoother walking path was installed along the parking lot across from the Rainbow Dr. and Johnson Ave.crosswalk. We are grateful to have this new, safer sidewalk for students who walk and bike to school. Earth Day: Today is Lynbrook's Earth Day Celebration. The Conservation Action Association hosted Lynbrook's first Earth Day Fair showcasing interactive booths and speakers from environmental organizations. The booths featured activities from Conservation Action Association, Machine Learning Club, Marine Wildlife Club, Key Club, ArtReach, and ASB Sustainability Commission, in addition to several outside organizations. The event took place from 3:15 to 5:00 pm inside and outside of the Lynbrook theater. Check out the photos on my Instagram account.
AP Exams Begin on Monday, May 1: Between May 1-19 approximately 3,200 AP exams will be taken by 1,200 Lynbrook students across all grade levels. Students will be excused from classes during their exam testing time only.It is important to remember that AP exams are not more important than a student's classes. Teachers will be flexible with students who are excused to take exams, but students are responsible for the work and learning that they miss. Students should not miss school to stay home and study for an AP exam. Cramming is not an effective study strategy and missed school makes students fall behind. Missed classes add to a student's stress level.
End of Progress Grade Period: Today is the last day of the 2nd Progress grade period of the second semester. Official progress grades will be posted in the IC portal on Friday, May 5. Happy May & June is on its way! Mrs. Jackson Principal |
| Many thanks to our District Maintenance Department for our new sidewalk along the parking lot. It has made the walk on campus much smoother and safer. |
