|
Hello, Vikings! Welcome to the 2022-23 School Year! Your teachers, the staff, and administrators are ready to greet you on Monday morning, August 22, 2022. Below is everything you need to know to have a successful first week of school. First Week of School The first week's schedule is below. Students will attend special Advisories on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. For Advisory, students will remain in their 2nd-period class on Monday and in their 4th-period class on Wednesday and Friday. |
|
| Safe Arrival to Campus We recommend that students plan to arrive on campus by 8:10 AM. The parking lot can get very crowded, and Johnson Avenue is congested in the morning. Access to the staff parking lot is closed for construction. This means the front lot will be busy. The administration recommends that students WALK or BIKE to school and give themselves ample time to arrive in the morning. To ensure the safety of all students, parents must use the appropriate drop-off lanes and follow directions given by staff. Parents should pull into the drop-off zones before the students exit the car. Students and parents must follow the directions of the staff monitoring the parking lots and crosswalks. Parents, never release your students in traffic in the middle of the street. Drivers, bikers, and walkers must use extreme caution at the intersection of Castle Glen Ave. and Lynbrook Way. This area is very busy in the morning. There is no drop-off on Lynbrook Way. The street dead ends at the access gate to Lynbrook. Students should walk down Lynbrook Way to enter campus. |
Bikes We encourage students to bike to school. In the interest of campus safety, bike riders are NOT allowed to ride on campus or through the parking lots. Riding bikes through the parking lots and on campus is dangerous. Students must lock bicycles in the bike racks. Do not lock bikes to poles or fences. |
COVID-19 Testing and Protocols The District will no longer be providing on-site COVID-19 testing through Inspire Diagnostics. Each school site has established a dedicated location where students and staff can pick up the at-home Antigen tests. Students and staff who want a home test should see Mrs. Tao in the GSS office. Staying Home When Sick It is critically important that all students and staff stay home if they are sick. Whether an individual is sick with symptoms of COVID-19, a cold or the seasonal flu, it is important to stay home to keep from spreading any of these illnesses to others. Students with possible symptoms of COVID-19 must contact Mrs. Rajabally and Assistant Principal Tara Grande. They will inform the parents, staff and students of the proper steps to take. Isolation Timeline for Positive COVID-19 Cases The isolation timeline for positive COVID-19 cases remains 10 days which is unchanged from Spring 2022. - 10 day isolation with Day 1 being the day after the first day of symptoms or the positive test
- Test on or after Day 5
- Exit isolation with a negative test anytime between Day 6-10, with proof of negative test
- Students who test negative before day 11 and want to return to school must check in with Mrs. Rajabally and show a picture or other proof of the negative test the DAY BEFORE they return to school.
- Exit isolation on Day 11 regardless of test result as long as there is symptom improvement and no fever within 24 hours

What if I didn't get my schedule at Viking Days? Students who did not attend Viking Days to pick up a printed schedule can log into Infinite Camps to view, download, and print their schedule under the Documents tab. A table will be set up at the top of the quad by the Viking boat and school counselors will be there to help students who have trouble accessing their schedules online.
What if I didn't take my photo and get my photo ID at Viking Days? If you missed Viking Day and did not get your school picture taken, retakes are on Monday, September 26, 2022, in the theater lobby. Mark your calendar, and do not miss that date! Students must PRE- REGISTER and bring their photo tickets with them. |
How do I see my schedule in Infinite Campus? If you are a new student to Lynbrook and do not know how to log into Infinite Campus, follow the steps in the letter sent by the school district in early August. This letter contained important information about your username, password, and how you needed to reset your password using the FUHSD Password Reset Tool. |
Where do I go if I need a Chromebook? If you requested a Chromebook and have not yet checked one out, please go to the library. Students who want a device must complete the request form. Brunch & Lunch Food Service - Lynbrook will have two outside serving carts in addition to the main cafe servery open for service at brunch and lunch.
- Students MUST bring their ID for scanning at the cashier station. Not having your ID slows the line down.
- Lines will look long, but they move very quickly.
- Students, be considerate. DO NOT cut in front of others. The line clears in about 10 minutes. Line-cutting is rude and selfish behavior. True Lynbrook Vikings are kind and have respect for one another.
Students with TA (Teacher Assistant) on their schedule or an unscheduled period between two classes. If you want to be a teacher assistant (TA), find a teacher who wants you to be their TA. If they agree to let you be their TA, please complete the Teacher Assistant Form. The document is posted on the Guidance Page under the Forms and Quick Links section. Senior Portraits Seniors, your Viking Day photo is only for your school ID. Senior yearbook photos have to be taken at the Now & Forever Studio. Book your appointment if you haven't done so already: https://mailchi.mp/79ae594e22ad/class-of-2023-book-now-1176322 Appointments must be booked by November to make it to our yearbook deadline, so don't wait! |
