National Physics Exams - The United States National Physics Olympiad (USAPhO) is offered each year to high school students interested in representing the U.S. at the International Physics Olympiad Competition. Lynbrook had three Gold Medalists and one Honorable Mention from the USAPhO held in April:
• Pranjal Chatterjee (Gold Medal)
• William Huang (Gold Medal)
• David Lee (Gold Medal)
• Andrew Yuan (Honorable Mention)
The top 20 national finishers from the USAPhO are invited to a rigorous training camp at the University of Maryland, where the top five finalists are selected to move on to the International Physics Olympiad. Congratulations to William Huang (12th grade) and David Lee (10th grade) who both qualified for the 2022 U.S. Physics Team Training Camp in June. This is a major accomplishment! Information on 2022 U.S. team members can be found here. USAPhO Semifinalist Medal ranking can be viewed here.
Before taking the USAPhO, students first had to qualify by taking the 2022 F=ma exam in February. Congratulations to the following Lynbrook students who took the 2022 F=ma and were invited to sit the USAPhO exam this year:
• Pranjal Chatterjee
• William Huang
• Daniel Wang
• Andrew Yuan

Note from Principal Jackson
This week there was a large spike in Covid infections. A detailed email was sent separately. In light of this, we are cancelling large indoor events or moving them outdoors when possible. We strongly recommend that everyone wear a mask to school and at all school functions. It is very important for students who are ill to stay home and take a Covid test immediately. Ill students concerned about finals should reach out to their teachers. Students who are ill should also contact their teachers about the best way to submit work.
Students who missed an AP test will be contacted about eligibility for late testing.
Senior Finals will take place over the course of this week and the first day of finals for 9th-11th grade students is on Friday, May 27 starting with periods 3 & 7. Information about senior activities can be found on our website.
There are 8 days of school left. Summer is almost here.
