| | Film Screening with Q&A Panel Discussion
Try Harder! is a documentary that follows the lives of five seniors at San Francisco's elite Lowell High School who share the dream–and the stress–of getting into a top university. To learn more about the film, watch the trailer, and register for the event, click HERE.
Parent Screening On-Demand: April 29–May 5, 2022. Parents will be sent a private link to view the movie asynchronously at their convenience between these dates once they register for the Parent Q&A panel discussion on May 6, from 7:30–8:30pm. This virtual screening and expert panel discussion are brought to you by the FUHS Foundation, the Fremont Union High School District, and all 5 FUHSD PTSAs. |
| "Kids at Lowell are pretty amazing," says one Lowell student, nervously. "Amazing" is what sets them apart: these are specially-selected students in San Francisco's top high school, a fabled institution that produces college-ready superstars. But "amazing" is also a high bar to live up to: against their peers in silent competition, to their parents' explicit and implicit expectations of immigrant success, but importantly, to their own inchoate standards of personal value. |

Congratulations Robotics Championship - Congratulations to the Funky Monkeys who recently competed in the 2022 FIRST Championship event in Houston, Texas. DECA ICDC 2022 - Nineteen members of Lynbrook's DECA Club recently attended the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta, Georgia and performed incredibly well. Students had to qualify at the state level or through virtual competitions in order to attend, which was already a huge accomplishment. DECA had over 17,000 students compete from around the world, with several hundred in each competitive category. Each competitive category has many levels of competition including exams, written proposals that were pre-submitted, and then presentations/role plays in front of a judge. While all attendees should be commended for their hard work and showing, Lynbrook did have many students earn awards: |

Brief COVID Update At Lynbrook, we had two positive cases of COVID-19 this week. We did not see a surge in COVID-19 cases after returning from spring break. The graph below shows the amount of SARS-CoV-2 measurements in wastewater since tracking started in Oct / Nov 2020. There is a slight uptick in cases since mid February, but positive cases and hospitalizations are nowhere near the numbers of January 2022. |
