Participating in the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is one of the best ways to coordinate that support. If you have the time and energy to serve on the Lynbrook PTSA board, please email lynbrookhsptsa@gmail.com with the role you would like to volunteer for during the 2022-2023 school year. I will keep this note about the new 2022-23 schedule in the newsletter for the next few weeks. I want to make sure everyone is aware of the upcoming change. It will have an impact on how one plans afterschool activities next year. Senate Bill 328 Requires New Bell Schedule in August 2022
California will become the first state to require later start times in response to medical research that shows most teens are sleep deprived as a result of changes to their biological clocks that prevent them from going to sleep early (EdSource). As mandated in Senate Bill 328, starting next school year. public high schools cannot begin classes before 8:30 AM. The teachers and district leaders worked together to design a bell schedule to meet the requirements of the law and the FUHSD Collective Bargaining Agreement. All five high school in the district will be on the same schedule. The schedule will have four block days and three tutorials/advisories. |
