Hello Lynbrook Vikings!
The 2022 Varsity Boys' Basketball team will go down in Lynbrook history.
Saturday afternoon's Boys Basketball Division II Championship game in Gilroy at Christopher High School ended with a Viking victory and championship. It was a thrilling 70-64 game where the score ping-ponged back and forth throughout the 32 minutes of play. At half, the score was 35-35 and everyone in attendance knew it was going to come down to the last minutes of the game. Clutch finish for the Vikes making several under-pressure free throws as the home Christopher crowd was going nuts. Senior Nikhil Narasimhan scored 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished 4 assists in the win. He also went perfect from the free throw line. Junior Jonathan Fu scored 12 points, had three assists, and nailed end of the game free throws to win the championship for the Vikes. (Thank you, Jeff Bale, for the eloquent commentary).
The Boys have never been to the NorCal playoffs and with their championship game win, they will host their first NorCal game. The Girls program was the last to host a game, back in 2013, when they beat Alameda, then beat Presentation to advance to the title game in Sacramento where they fell to St. Francis.
