Athletes are to wear masks at all times including during game play. The only exception is for wrestlers, while wrestling. All other wrestlers and coaches are to wear masks. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. The Season of College Admission Decisions Begins
It is that time of year when seniors start hearing from colleges if they applied for early decision or early action. College admission to highly selective schools is very competitive and even the most qualified and gifted students may not be accepted. Students who prepared long and hard and received a rejection letter from their dream school are understandably disappointed. Acceptance rates at selective universities are historically low and the pool of amazing students is always larger than the number of admission slots available. Students should not try not to figure out why one student was admitted over another. That does nothing but create hurt feelings and anxiety. The admissions process is mysterious.
December-April can be tumultuous for seniors. College applications increased this year and more applications can mean lower overall acceptance rates. It is important to keep a realistic and hopeful perspective.
"In adulthood, you'll see that the old adage tends to be true: When one door closes, another one opens. And in contrast to our cultural myths about the path to 'success,' many people who didn't get into their dream school have also gone on to become Nobel laureates, Pulitzer Prize recipients, Oscar winners, university presidents, CEOs, and major philanthropists. I put "success" in quotes because ultimately a successful life is a fulfilling one, and studies show that there's no difference in happiness between those who attend Ivy League schools and those who don't. Construction Update When students return from break, there will be no access to campus along the GSS office (Guidance and Student Services). Starting in January, the only ways to access campus will be the entry by the pool and the entry by the art and music wing. Allow extra time to get to class on time in the morning. The map below designates entry areas of campus.

Looking to January 2022
The rise in the omicron variant is troublesome. There is much we do not know. We must remain vigilant. Over the break, our facilities staff will be changing air filters on our HVAC units. We expect a full return to school on Monday, January 2, 2022. Have a safe, relaxing and joy-filled December break!
