Lynbrook Valkyries Fall Show - The Valkyries Dance Team Fall Show will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 7pm-9pm in the Lynbrook gym. Tickets are $7 and come with a free raffle ticket. Purchase your ticket from any valk or at the door.
Aletheia Submissions Open - Students: How does Lynbrook's learning environment impact your life? Do you find yourself comparing and competing with others or collaborating and connecting with them? Aletheia is currently open for submissions for our first issue of the year, "Compare, Compete, Collab, Connect" at lhsaletheia.com/submit. Submissions are due by Sunday, November 7th. Aletheia is a student-run publication that facilitates communication on prevalent but often unspoken issues within the Lynbrook community. All submissions will be anonymous and students are encouraged to submit their experiences.
Holiday Craft Faire - Join us on Saturday, November 20th from 9am-4pm for the 42nd Annual Lynbrook Holiday Craft Faire featuring handcrafted items from over 100 vendors. It is one of the largest in the West Valley and the perfect place to find a gift for young and old alike. Enjoy hot food, great music, bake sale, artwork and raffles. Proceeds benefit Lynbrook's Orchestra, Concert Band, Marching Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble. Admission is free.
Goodwill Truck Donation Fundraiser - Lynbrook Valkyries Dance Team has organized a Goodwill Truck to be parked at Lynbrook on Saturday, December 11th from 9am–3pm. A portion of the proceeds goes back to the Lynbrook Valkyries Team based on how many items are donated. Small household appliances and electronics are acceptable, but no furniture and items weighing over 50 lbs please.
Valhalla Yearbook Senior Ads - Valhalla Yearbook senior ads are now available for purchase. Seniors — to memorialize the experiences you have had and the journeys that have led you to now in the 2021-2022 edition of Valhalla, fill out the form at https://tinyurl.com/vahallaseniorads2122. The form MUST be filled out and payment should be delivered in the form of cash or check to Mrs. Robledo's mailbox in the office by December 15th. You may purchase either a half-page or a full page. Senior ads may be for an individual or a group of people. Senior ads may be purchased for others, and in this case, can also be kept secret by Valhalla staff until the release of the yearbook at the end of the year.
Student Parking and Drop Off Reminder - Student Parking is permitted only in designated student parking areas. As a reminder, student parking and student drop-off are PROHIBITED on Lynbrook Way. Please be a considerate neighbor. Residents have complained but are mostly concerned about student safety.
Lynbrook is a Bike-Friendly Campus - New bike racks have opened up in front of the tennis courts. A permanent bike repair station has also been installed. Students, please ALWAYS LOCK YOUR BIKE. Unlocked bicycles lead to bike theft.
FUHSD Adult School Opportunities - Earn your adult diploma or take GED classes through FUHSD Adult Education. Or learn English for free at the FUHSD Adult School. STTAR Tutors are Available - Students, if you are earning a "B" grade or below in a particular subject wish to improve your grade, request a STTAR Tutor now. Meet with your assigned peer tutor on a weekly basis to review coursework material, study for quizzes/tests, better understand concepts/assignments, and improve your study skills. Click on ACADEMIC SUPPORT on the Student portal webpage, then click on Peer (STTAR) Tutoring.
Homework Center - Drop into Homework Center on Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays, 3:30-5:00pm and get started on your homework. New attendance procedure: scan the QR Code as you enter the Library or sign in at the Librarian's Desk. Student tutors are available.

Today, Friday, November 5 is the last day of the progress grade period. Due to the long weekend, grades will be posted in Infinite Campus by Monday, November 18, 2021. We are entering the last six weeks of the first semester.
REMINDER: Daylight Savings time ends on Sunday, November 7. Be sure to turn your clock back one hour before you go to bed. Give yourself time to adjust to the change by getting plenty of rest.
Final Exam Week is December 13-16, 2021. The Final Exam schedule is below. Please note that school starts at 8:00 AM during Finals Week.

Lynbrook Speech & Debate Coast Forensic League (CFL) Akul Murthy Impromptu Wild Card to State Qualification This reserves a spot for Akul at the California State Qualification Tournament. 3rd Finalist
Calvin Zhou National Extemp 11th Finalist
The Funky Monkeys, Team 846, competed at Chezy Champs FRC Tournament hosted by Team 254 at Bellarmine College Preparatory. Chezy Champs is the most prestigious FIRST robotics competition of 2021. Our team performed well and was part of the winning alliance of robots! There were 39 teams competing from all over the country, and even internationally. Overall, it was a great experience, and now we are excited to get started building a new robot for the New Year.
There is so much happening at Lynbrook! Let me know how your team competitions are going and I will give your group a shout out, too!

The Public Health Guidelines for schools require masks at all times unless we are eating. Students must remain home if they have any one or more of the following symptoms: fever, chills, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, nausea, diarrhea. Enrichment time is designed for students to meet with teachers or study. Teachers will let students know their system to make an appointment with them during Enrichment Time. The library will be open Monday-Wednesday 8:00 AM- 3:25 PM. The library will close on Thursday 12/16 at 11:00 AM. There will be no Homework Center after school during Final Exam Week. Students should plan time to meet with their STTAR tutors during Enrichment Time.
