Note from Principal Jackson
Hello, Lynbrook!
Here is the latest and greatest from LHS.
Spectators at Sports Events Parents and family members who want to cheer-on their student athlete must follow the following guidelines.
Baseball and softball games are limited to members of the immediate household of an athlete, 4 per player.
Water Polo, Tennis, and Track & Field spectators are limited to 2 per Lynbrook team member and for HOME EVENTS ONLY.
Basketball, Boys Volleyball, and Wrestling spectators are allowed starting on Monday, May 3, 2021. We recently received clearance to allow two spectators (the parent of a competing athlete accompanied by a person living in the same household) to attend HOME GAMES ONLY. If multiple games occur in one day, the spectators from the first game must depart before the spectators from the next game can enter. The bleachers will be cleared between events.
ALL Spectators at all events must…
Pick up passes starting Monday, May 3, 2021 from the main office at 1 PM.
Masks at Lynbrook The Mercury News reported that California's COVID-19 numbers are 33 per 100,000 persons. Currently, we have the lowest COVID-19 infection rate in the nation. At a recent press conference, President Biden announced that the CDC says vaccinated people are cleared to be maskless at certain times outdoors. This is all good news… BUT … Santa Clara County has not relaxed its mask-wearing requirements. While on campus, staff and students must wear masks at all times (except when eating). Thank you for your continued cooperation.
Progress Grades Posted The progress period ended last Friday, April 23, 2021. Today grades are posted in the Infinite Campus portal https://campus.fuhsd.org/campus/portal/fremont.jsp. Academic alerts will be sent to parents if a student is earning a D, F, or Incomplete. Students who think they may earn a D or F at the semester should contact their guidance counselor to discuss options and recommendations for grade improvement or credit recovery. NIKKI DANG, A-H, (408) 366-7766: SHANA HOWDEN, I-PG (408) 366-7767, MALISSA GOLDSTEIN, PH-Z, (408) 366-7790. Seniors earning a D or F at the semester may jeopardize graduation or college eligibility. There are five weeks left in the semester. Students who want to improve their grades should reach out to teachers to learn what is required to improve. Changes to Learning Groups At this time, we will only be making changes to learning groups for the following reasons:
We are not moving students from remote learning to in-person learning at this time. If you have a question about moving to in-person learning, contact your guidance counselor. NIKKI DANG, A-H, (408) 366-7766: SHANA HOWDEN, I-PG (408) 366-7767,MALISSA GOLDSTEIN, PH-Z, (408) 366-7790.
Course Selection for Next School Year Course request verifications are processed. Students will receive a preliminary course list in August. The course list is preliminary because the order of the classes may change, as we must keep class sizes balance. The classes will not change. In August, students will be given one more opportunity to add or drop a class. Every August we have change days. Students may add classes if there is space available, and students may drop a course, too. We do not allow requests to change the order of classes or switch class periods. We make every effort to create schedules that do not have open periods between classes. If a student drops a class, that may result in an unscheduled period between classes.
Check your monthly letter from the Guidance Department for important information from our Guidance Counselors.
CAASPP- State Testing of Juniors Juniors who signed up to take the CAASPP should closely monitor their school email for details and updates. The test dates are Wednesday, May 5, 2021, and May 12, 2021. Questions? Email Assistant Principal Jeff Rosado jeff_rosado@fuhsd.org.
