Lynbrook Reopening Guidelines: To ensure the safety of staff and students, everyone must work together and follow the established guidelines. All students should take time to review the Lynbrook High School Guide to Reopening. Watch the video, created by Assistant Principals Mr. Rosado, Mrs. Rocha and Mr. Wong, to learn the protocols and tips for navigating campus.
Note from Principal Jackson
Hello Lynbrook! Week one is of concurrent teaching is in the books. Teachers are back in their classrooms, and we have 320 students on campus. After school, over a hundred athletes arrive for practices and games. Lynbrook is alive with in-person activity again.
Plans for multiple graduation ceremonies are underway and must accommodate the current state and county distancing and capacity requirements. This has been a year of shifting requirements and expectations, so our plans are flexible. Assistant Principal, Susan Rocha, will be communicating with seniors as well as posting information in our Week Ahead emails.
Today was the last day of the second grading period of the second semester. Grades will be posted on Friday, April 28, in the Infinite Campus portal. We are in the final six weeks of the school year. The Opportunity Week Schedule (formerly known as Finals Week) is unusual this year because of the Memorial Day holiday. Seniors will be finishing their studies the week of May 23-28.
We are in the last week of April, and May will be a busy month!
The weather is beautiful at the moment, but I hear that rain is in the forecast for this weekend. Drive safely if you are out on Sunday. The roads will be slippery. If you need something to read when it is raining, I recommend reading the Epic online.
The excerpt from their newsletter below provides a glimpse of the latest stories:
In light of the violence against the AAPI community, we decided to create a collection of stories and media that detail the complexities and nuances of being an Asian-American. We know this issue hits close to home for a lot of our community, and we hope you will take the time to read these stories. To learn more about actions you can take to stand up against hate and ignorance, look out for our staff editorial in the coming days.
Have a wonderful weekend. GO VIKES! Mrs. Jackson
