Meet our Students
Lucy Barnes, Class of 2023
Lucy will be attending Lewis and Clark College, majoring in Sociology and Education
"The relationships I was able to build with different students and teachers have meant so much to me throughout my high school years. That feeling of greeting and catching up with the people as you walk the halls is unmatched! Never allow your expectations of yourself to confine you! The best memories and experiences I had at Lynbrook started with me feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable. Embracing discomfort, change and awkwardness allowed me to challenge myself more than I ever could have expected."
Vikram Thirumaran, Class of 2023
Vikram will be attending the University of Oregon, majoring in Computer Science
"You’re only a high school student once, so I would tell freshmen to cherish their time with family and friends, start out broad, explore all that Lynbrook has to offer, and take initiative by stepping outside their comfort zone. I would tell incoming freshmen to explore their interests, and not to grow up too quickly. Our community is a very competitive place that funnels students into a few extracurriculars and classes. It’s great to have drive, ambition, and a thirst for knowledge, all of which are traits that are integral to Lynbrook’s identity, but we often forget about more important aspects of school life. It’s equally important to remember to have fun, take care of yourself, and maintain your relationships, all of which are lifelong skills more important than a letter grade."
