Dear Parents and Guardians of students in the Class of 2022,
It has been three years since we could host a full schedule of events to commemorate our seniors. In light of this, I want to describe the upcoming events for the Class of 2022.
We are embarking on a memorable and exciting time! Graduation and the events leading up to it are when people make cherished memories. This note will provide you with a brief description of this year's events.
SENIOR AWARDS
Each year graduates who receive special recognition are honored at Senior Awards. At this time, Valedictorians, scholarship recipients, and other awards are acknowledged. Some honors are self-reported by the seniors, and other awards are a surprise. This event will take place in the Lynbrook quad from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022.
Participation is by invitation only. Invitations are sent by the College and Career Center Advisors.
SENIOR PICNIC
Traditionally there is a final daytime social event for the graduating class. This event has been held at a local park or Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk. This year, the event will occur at the Santa Cruz Beach and Boardwalk on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Seniors must pay for the event and sign up in advance.
Participation is optional.
SENIOR CELEBRATION CEREMONY
The Senior Celebration, formerly called Baccalaureate, is held a few days before high school graduation. The Senior Celebration is a quieter, more intimate event. It is an opportunity for the seniors to pause and reflect on their four years at Lynbrook and the significance of the approaching graduation ceremony.
At this event, seniors will hear keynote speeches from faculty members and students. There are special musical performances, too.
The Seniors attend the event in their graduation gowns but no cap. This celebration is for LHS Seniors and their families only (not open to other LHS grade levels or schools).
The event is in the Lynbrook Cafeteria from 7:00 - 8:00 pm on May 31, 2022. A reception will follow immediately after the ceremony.
Participation is optional
This event requires students to RSVP. Students must follow the link below to sign up for the event.

GRADUATION
High School Graduation is a significant rite of passage in a young person's life. It is also a memorable moment for families. At Lynbrook, we have celebrated many students on their successful completion of high school. Graduation is a meaningful ceremony that honors our students and encapsulates the values we hold as a dynamic environment of respect and achievement where ALL can learn deeply, apply their knowledge, and contribute purposefully. Unlike Senior Awards, there will be no acknowledgments of individual accomplishments at graduation. This day is all about celebrating the class as a whole. They started ninth grade together, and now they graduate as the Class of 2022. They hear the names of their classmates as each one walks across the stage. At the end of the ceremony, graduates will turn the tassel on their caps, walk out of the stadium together, and leave Lynbrook to embark on their unique life journey.
Graduation is on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Graduation, June 3, 2022, at 9:30 am. To ensure that all audience members have seats, families are allotted four tickets per family. More seats may be requested on a space-available basis.
All eligible seniors are expected to participate in the graduation ceremony.
GRAD NIGHT SENIOR PARTY
Grad Night is a PTSA-sponsored event. Parents have worked together to make the evening a fun, memorable, and safe party for the graduates. The Class of 2022 Grad Night Senior Party is on June 3, 2022, from 9:00 pm to June 4, 2022, at 4:00 am on the campus of Lynbrook High School.
Participation is optional.
