On October 28, 1886 U.S. President Grover Cleveland officially dedicated the Statue of Liberty—a gift from the people of France to the people of the United States—on Bedloe's (later Liberty) Island in Upper New York Bay.

Concurrent Enrollment Webinar:  The FUHSD concurrent enrollment webinar scheduled for October 28 at noon is full. If you have not registered, you may still access the event using this link: https://youtu.be/67LxrSxI6GA. Concurrent enrollment is an optional opportunity for students and is not mandatory. Students who are struggling with remote learning or who are already busy with schoolwork and extracurricular activities should not add a concurrent enrollment class at this time. Concurrent enrollment FAQs can be found on the LHS Guidance & Student Support Website.

Senior Portraits/Yearbook:  Dear 2021 Graduates and Parents/Guardians.  This is a reminder to book your Senior Portrait appointment as soon as possible at https://booknow.appointment-plus.com/43rcylk2/. If you want your senior portrait to be included in this year’s yearbook, make sure you are photographed and your photo choice is submitted to us by December 18th.  Thank you, Valhalla Yearbook

Peer STTAR Tutor Program:  If your first semester progress report grade is a "B" or below in a certain class, consider requesting a STTAR Tutor to help you. All tutoring will be virtual this semester. Homework Center:  Homework Center is now VIRTUAL!  Hours:
Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:00pm
Wednesdays 2:00 - 3:30pm
Thursdays 3:00 - 4:30pm
Homework Center is open to all students who need assistance with schoolwork.  Peer tutors are available to help with most subjects during Homework Center hours. Book Pick up/ Exchange:  If you have a general book to exchange or pick-up you can do so on the following days:

  • Tuesday 11am-2pm 
  • Wednesday 10am-2pm 
  • Friday 11am-2pm 

During these times, drive through the staff parking lot and to the back of the library.  Upon arrival, call the library phone number 408-366-7731 and state your student ID number, what you need to pick up or exchange--be sure to include the teacher's name and the course.  Wait in your car until your materials are brought out.  Exit the car, wearing a mask and pick up your materials.  Please do not call the phone number until you have arrived at the back of the library.
