FUN FACT:

On January 23, 1849, Geneva Medical College, New York bestows a medical degree upon Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman in the United States to receive one. Despite the near-uniform opposition of her fellow students and medical professionals, Blackwell pursued her calling with an iron will and dedicated her life to treating the sick and furthering the cause of women in medicine.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Middle College:  10th and 11th graders! Are you interested in being a part time college student next year? Are you interested in taking high school and college courses on the De Anza Campus instead of on your high school campus? If so, then Middle College might be the program for you. Middle College consists of students who take their high school English, History, and Advisory Elective on the De Anza campus, and take diverse, fun, rigorous college courses through De Anza for the rest of their schedule. CSF Second Semester Application:  Hello Lynbrook!  CSF (California Scholarship Federation) is now opening second semester applications! CSF is the largest service club on campus and the only honor society open to freshman! Application instructions and materials can be found at our website at https://lynbrookcsf.wixsite.com/lhscsf/important-forms. There is a video to help guide you through the application process. Hands on Stem Club:  Hands-On STEM is a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsorship organization founded by Lynbrook students last year that aims to close the education gap in the world by spreading awareness and providing STEM education and opportunities through workshops to middle-school students from under-privileged or low-income school districts. Through our club, we hope to be able to spread awareness and increase participation regarding this issue. Our club meetings will be during Wednesday “lunch” from 12:20 - 1 where we will go over news in the world regarding the education gap and announcements regarding workshops, the main volunteer opportunity, as well as preparing for them. New Bridge Club on Campus:  Bridge is an extremely popular card game with millions of players worldwide. Through this club, we hope to promote and spread the game of bridge to Lynbrook students. Athletic Boosters Selling Masks:  Athletic Boosters is selling face masks for $10.00 each. The face masks have the Lynbrook logo and Viking head on them. They are made of a comfortable material. Note: The face masks are not medical grade. To purchase a face mask, you can make a $10.00 check out to Lynbrook Athletic Boosters or cash. The masks can be picked up in the front office.

Homework Center:  Homework Center is now VIRTUAL!  Hours:

Tuesdays 3:30 - 5:00pm

Wednesdays 2:00 - 3:30pm

Thursdays 3:00 - 4:30pm

Homework Center is open to all students who need assistance with schoolwork.  Peer tutors are available to help with most subjects during Homework Center hours. STTAR Tutor Program:  STTAR tutors are currently available to be matched with students who would like to be tutored on a weekly basis. Submit a STTAR Tutor Request form which can be found under "Need a Tutor?" on the STTAR webpage.
