On this day in 1870, Congress passed the Enforcement Act.  The Enforcement Act of 1870, also known as the Civil Rights Act of 1870 was a United States federal law that empowered the President to enforce the first section of the Fifteenth Amendment throughout the United States.  The act was the first of three Enforcement Acts passed by the United States Congress in 1870 and 1871, during the Reconstruction Era, to combat attacks on the voting rights of African Americans from state officials or violent groups like the Ku Klux Klan.

Incoming AP Literature Students - Juniors who are registered for AP Lit next year, Note that there is mandatory summer reading. You will find information in the Student or Parent Portal of the LHS website in the News section. Information is also on the Lynbrook website under Academics; just click on “Department”.  Please write yourself a note or calendar reminder so you can learn the assignment specifications before school ends.

Summer work for AP classes - If you are taking an AP class next year, make sure to check to see if you have any summer work. Summer work will be posted no later than May 31st.  You'll be able to find the information on the school's website under Academics/Departments as well as in the student portal and Schoology Hubs.

Homework Center - This week is the final week for Homework Center.  We will be open today and Thursday after school until 5:00pm.  Homework Center will NOT be open during finals week.

 

CLASS:

Senior Grad Night Celebration - Grad Night Boosters is proud to bring the first ever Lynbrook Battle of the Bands to grad night. Featuring your very own: NPCS Rebranded with Amishi, Esther, Mallika, Sophiya, Victoria and Angela. Battling it against Kimchee Masala with Sravya, Serena, Rishab, Jacob and Keshav. As well as Taking Back Summer with Saahil, Cougar, Krisalyn, Timothy and Soohyuk. Seniors - Make sure you arrive at 9pm on Friday June 9th to be able to cast your vote for the Lynbrook Battle of the Bands champion and winner of $150 in prize money. Yes, that's 9pm arrival for good seats, the chance to hear some epic bands and cast your choice for the winner of the 2023 battle of the bands. 

Seniors: Your LHS Google Accounts won't graduate with you! - Shortly after you graduate, your FUHSD Google account will be de-activated and you will no longer have access to any data you have stored in it. If you would like to save any of your data, content or work, you will need to take a few steps to make sure you keep it. Seniors - Textbook & Library Materials – Seniors, check your student email for detailed information about procedures for checking in textbooks, long-term Chromebooks and library materials, and for information about clearing fines so you can make it through senior checkout.

 

ATHLETICS:

Athletes with a Sports Locker – Please make sure to clean out your locker and turn in your lock to Mrs. Griffin or Mr. Wright by TODAY, May 31st!  If you do not, we will clean out your locker for you and your items will be donated to Goodwill.

Next Year Athletes – Any student interested in playing a sport next year needs to come to a mandatory meeting at lunch tomorrow, June 1st in the gym.
