On this day in 2001, 19 militants associated with the terrorist group al-Qaeda hijacked four planes in the United States, crashing three into buildings (the fourth crashed into the ground in Pennsylvania after the passengers attempted to retake the plane) and killing some 3,000 people. These attacks were the deadliest terrorist attacks on American soil in U.S. history. The attacks against New York City and Washington, D.C. caused extensive death and destruction and triggered an enormous U.S. effort to combat terrorism.

Students are welcome to work independently on their assignments or receive help from Student Tutors when needed. Heart Screening for Athletes – On September 26, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, at Homestead High School, the Kyle J. Taylor Foundation will be providing on campus heart screening for all FUHSD athletes.
