On this day in 1999, the space shuttle Discovery became the first space shuttle to dock with the International Space Station (ISS).  A major task of the shuttle Discovery’s crew was to transfer more than 1.5 tons of equipment to the inside of ISS.  Additionally, shuttle astronauts undertook a spacewalk for 7 hours and 55 minutes to attach two cranes to the station and put out foot restraints for future astronauts to secure themselves during spacewalks.

Yearbook Distribution - Hey Lynbrook! Yearbooks are here! Distribution will be open to all grades on May 29th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. It will take place in front of the theater. Please bring your physical ID and clear all your library fines, otherwise you will not be able to pick up your yearbook. See you there!

 

Monta Vista Lynbrook Marching Band and Colorguard - Looking for an extracurricular to meet friends, get sports credit, learn new skills, and perform exciting music? End-of-Year Voter Registration Drive – Seniors, the College and Career Center is hosting a voter registration drive for one last time before graduation at Lunch on Friday, May 29th in the Quad. Registering to vote online through the upcoming voter drive can save you a lot of time and energy in the voter registration process, so come on over to the quad on Friday to get it done before graduation.

Additionally, all non-seniors who are above the age of 16 are eligible to pre-register to vote. Upon turning 18, students who pre-register will automatically be eligible to vote. We look forward to seeing all those who can register or pre-register in the Quad on May 29!

Sports Lockers – If you checked out a sports locker, now is your time to clean it out and return the lock to one of the PE teachers.  Please clean out your locker prior to Friday, May 29th.  Anything left in the lockers will be donated at the end of the year.

Registration for Sports and Activities for the 26-27 School Year - Don't forget to register on Home Campus for the 26-27 school year.  If you are thinking about participating in a sport or activity next school year, you need to be registered in Home Campus.  Go to www.homecampus.com and register for the first time or update your old registration.
