On this day in 1863, General Ulysses S. Grant defeated General Braxton Bragg’s Confederate forces in the Battle of Missionary Ridge during the American Civil War.  The Union forces forced the defeated Confederate Army of Tennessee to retreat to Georgia ending the siege of Union forces in Chattanooga, Tennessee thus routing one of the Confederacy’s two major armies.  The Union now held undisputed control of the state of Tennessee, including Chattanooga, the “Gateway to the Lower South.”

GENERAL INFORMATION:

SCCLD Bookmobile Visit - The Santa Clara County Library will bring its Biblio Go Go cart to the quad Thursday, December 5th, at lunch.  You do not have to have a library card to check out books, although it's helpful.  Scan the cart for books you can check out and read over the break!

Homework Center – Homework Center is open in the library on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school ends until 5:00 pm.  Students can work independently on their assignments or get help from Student Tutors if needed.  Attending Homework Center can help students build healthy study habits for a successful year! Winter Book Match - Winter Break Book Match - The LHS Librarians and the Students for Literacy Club are excited to help you find the perfect book to curl up with over Winter Break!
