On this day in 1955, in violation of segregation laws in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks refused to surrender her bus seat to a white passenger and was arrested, sparking a 381-day bus boycott led by Martin Luther King, Jr.  This resulted in the desegregation of the buses and is often thought of as the event that started the Civil Rights Movement nationwide.

Winter Formal - Hey Lynbrook, Winter Formal 2024: Celestial Bodies will be on Saturday, January 27th from 6:30-9:30 pm at the Tech Interactive Museum in Downtown San Jose.  Ticket sales will be from Monday 12/11 to Wednesday 12/13 during lunch in the ASB classroom.  Tickets are $35 for ASB cardholders and $45 for non-ASB cardholders. Winter Break Book Match – Hey Vikings!  It's time for the first Book Match of 23-24. The LHS Librarians and the Students for Literacy Club encourage you to spend your Winter Break curled up with a good book. Check your school email or head to the library webpage for a link to the Book Match Preference Form. Fill it out by December 8th, and we will either find a book for you that will be delivered to your English classroom Thursday 12/14 or Friday 12/15 before finals week OR we'll send out recommendations according to your preferences by Friday 12/15, including instructions on where to find the book(s).

Studio 74's Fall Musical, Ranked – What if your academic ability determined your social status?  Come see fall musical, Ranked, which explores the lives of high school students as they try to score their way to the top and avoid falling below the average. After an impossible lie is exposed, the fate of these students' futures hang in the balance.  Ranked will take place in the auditorium at 7PM on December 1st and December 2nd. Student tickets are $10 and adult tickets are $15. Tickets can be bought online at TINYURL.COM/LHSRANKEDTIX, in the ASB office, and at the door. 

Thrift Store Donations - Hey Lynbrook! Donations for Lynbrook's Thrift Store end today and directions are in the Lynbrook App. The first 40 people who donate will receive a FREE Lynbrook Thrift Store tote bag!  Purchases for the Lynbrook Thrift Store will be open at lunch next Monday through Wednesday if you are looking for some clothes. You will be able to find items from pants to outerwear for under $10 while purchasing sustainable clothing. Proceeds will be donated to charity!



Lynbrook Asgardians - Congrats to the Lynbrook Asgardians for another successful season! Team super smash, League of Legends, and Rocket League all ended their season in the top 10!  Team Valorant made playoffs and won their first round before losing in the quarter finals to Valley Christian in a thrilling 18 - 16 final game. Team Chess are currently in playoffs with Leo, Chaas, and Ritam making it to the quarter finals! GOOOOOOOOOO A S G!
